Hamza's Story

‘I am not here to waste your time, but to know the truth.’

When Hamza, 56, an Islamic teacher from Jordan, reached out he was looking for answers about the Bible. He wanted to know if the Bible is the Word of God or just the words of humans. 

Hamza made contact through one of our ministry websites and was put in touch with Habib, one of our digital responders.

‘He expressed a strong interest in learning about the Bible,’ shares Habib, ‘and removing the doubt from his heart that it is corrupted.’ 

Hamza wasn’t satisfied by what he’d been taught and needed to find out for himself.

Habib was able to explain in depth how we know the Bible can be relied upon, and this satisfied Hamza. So they moved on to discussing the gospels and the subject of love. 

‘I did not know that God loves all people,’ Hamza shares. ‘According to my previous teaching, I thought God only loves Muslims. This is the biggest deception in the world.’

Habib encouraged Hamza to download the Bible, and then communications paused for a while. About a month later, Habib checked in with him and Hamza had this to say:

‘Honestly, every time I open the Bible and read, I feel peace in my heart – a strange feeling I have never experienced before in my life.’

Habib encouraged Hamza to surrender his life to the Lord. Hamza confirmed that he believes that Jesus is God in the flesh and shared that since learning this, his life has changed for the better.

‘Hamza is growing in his faith in the Lord Jesus,’ writes Habib. ‘He asked us to pray for his entire family, especially his son, that they may all come to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.’

When the time is right, Hamza says he would love to meet in person with some local believers.
